Jacksonville’s Premier Spot for Gamers: Zero Latency VR – My Honest Experience
My husband’s birthday snuck up on me, and I wanted to surprise him with something fun and unique. He’s never been one to make a big deal out of birthdays, so I knew I had to go all out. After browsing some local experiences, Zero Latency VR in Jacksonville immediately caught my eye! My husband is an avid gamer but has slowed down a bit with work, so I knew this would be a memorable surprise.
After checking the website, I noticed that you had to select a game in advance, with no option to change it when you arrive. I called Zero Latency, and the staff kindly suggested the slowest times to visit so we could skip the appointment. We arrived about 30 minutes after opening the next day (they open at 2 PM) and were greeted with warm smiles and incredibly helpful staff. They helped us pick a game and guided us through the waiver process.
What to Know Before You Go
Pricing:
- Premium Games: $50/person (before tax)
- Arcade Games: $35/person (before tax)
We chose a premium game (Space Marine) to access the big arena. The arcade games are set up near the front and look more casual—perfect for kids or first-timers.
As a bit of a scaredy-cat, I asked the staff if the VR experience would be scary. (Don’t judge me!) They reassured me it was completely safe, and they were right. After watching a short instructional video in a small prep room, we geared up with headsets and gun controllers. The staff made sure we were comfortable and answered all our last-minute questions before we entered the arena.
The VR Experience
Friends, I was not expecting to have THAT much fun! Shooting at dragon-like creatures in a fully immersive VR world was incredible. The game lasted about 30 minutes and took us through multiple levels until we reached the final beast.
HERE IS YOUR WARNING: You will sweat! ALOT! This is an active experience, so go makeup-free, leave your sweater at home, and be ready to move. They provide secured lockers for your belongings. The staff took videos during our experience on my phone! AND they send us an email summary of our entire game including. a phone montage of us in the arena!
FINAL RATING AND THOUGHTS? YES…or MESS?
Rating: 8.8/10 YES!
This was genuinely FUN, even for someone who isn’t a gamer. My husband loved it and immediately said he wants to go again. My only downside is the price—this is a splurge experience, perfect for birthdays, date nights, or family outings. Realistically, it’s something we’d do maybe four times a year, but it’s worth it for a special occasion.
If you’re in Jacksonville and looking for an immersive VR experience that gamers and non-gamers alike will enjoy, Zero Latency VR is a must-visit!
